Austin Expedition - Photo Essay

photos by Cassandra and Elisa Mohr

The expedition in Austin, Texas was a success.

We were fortunate enough to not only avoid the predicted rain, but even have some sunshine.

I will give a more complete account in a future post, but in the mean time, here are some photos from the day.

The prua of "Rosa" in the morning sun.

"Rosa" - dressed an ready for her close-up.

Handling the remo and preparing to take some Boy Scouts from the local council out for a short row.

Scouts on board. Chris with cowboy hat and remo. Giving an interview for the news. Discussing the route.
After all the commotion - the departure.
Passing under the MoPac Bridge.

After the MoPac Chris and I were treated to a good old-fashioned "windfight", with wind speeds around 25 knots, gusting to at least 30.

We fought it all the way back.

Chris didn't row hunched over - he was joking about cutting wind resistance by ducking down.
My favorite caption for this photo:
"And that's when the fight started."
