When I realized that the Festa del Redentore (Feast of the Redeemer) was about to take place, I secretly hoped that Marie at Italy to Los Angeles and Back might grace us with a post about it, maybe even with first hand knowledge.
Well, I wasn't fortunate enough to get to Venezia for this year's Redentore, but jumping over to Marie's blog made me feel like it was my lucky day.
Read the post "Il Redentore...a night you might want to add to your bucket list"...and you'll feel like you were there.
The post might actually make you want to add it to your bucket list too.
A little self-incrimination here:
I was actually sitting in church
when I discovered the post,
on my I-phone.
I saw the photo which is followed by the words "Reflecting Redentore" and my jaw dropped, my eyes bugged out, and in amazement I showed it to my wife...
Who gave me the look.
You know the look.
We've all gotten the look at some point in our lives.
Next she muttered the word "later" in a hushed and insistent tone,
As the pastor glanced in our direction.
I was totally busted.
But that photo amazed me, and for the record,
it's the best "gondola and fireworks" photo I've seen yet.
Nice shot Marie.
And thanks for getting me in trouble!

But, it was worth it to be sprung, wasn't it!?
Greg, Thank you! And honestly, when I saw that shot on my camera I thought someone who loves gondolas and Venice as much as you might appreciate it.
And I bet if you showed the Pastor the photo he'd understand! :)

I think the Vatican recently approved a tele-confession applet for the iPhone. That could come handy in such situations.
