The day drew to a close.
As the sun bid farewell for the night,
it painted the sky with broad strokes and brilliant colors.
For a fleeting moment I took in the splendor
of a masterpiece that would soon fade,
replaced by the electric glimmer of thousands of Christmas lights,
adorning homes, yachts, and yes - even gondolas.
